This museum exhibits the most valuable collections of criollo silver in Argentina. The Museum also features a variety of regional crafts, especially the handcrafted.

The museum possesses 2,000 digital images and documents that deal with traditionalist movements in Argentina. There is also a library and documents collection dealing especially with regional folklore. The architecture marks the typical Buenos Aires eclectic style. In this case, there are Italian and French influences. The house was built in the early 20th century. It is surrounded by gardens.

This house was donated by Mr. Félix Bunge in 1938 in order that it assigns it for museum of Argentine motifs." Ten years later, the museum opened its doors to the public under the name Museum of Argentine Popular Motifs "Jose Hernandez". In 1976, after the military coup, the term "popular" was erased, giving the name its present form.

In 1957, Mrs. María Delfina Astengo de Moores donated her husband's library. Guillermo Moores´ book collection is the base of the present library.
