International Festival of Independent Films

It is held annually in Buenos Aires. The festival provides the directors a platform to showcase their masterpieces. The films are shown at different venues throughout the city, such as Cine Americana, Cine Cosmos and Alianza Francesa. There is also an award ceremony at the end of the festival. Previous year's winners include Solo, Half Price, Esquizo and Ronda Nocturna.

The 8th festival was held in April 2006. The festival received an overwhelming response. The audience was able to view great performances. The festival sure provides a platform to the up- coming artists and a unique opportunity to be recognized.

A huge audience is attracted to this enormous festival. More than 30% is added to it every consecutive year. Independent Film Festival (or BA FICI, as the organizers liked to nickname it) unfolds in 11 different theatres throughout the city offering the Argentinean movie- goers eleven days of the best that is going on in the independent film universe.

The capital of Argentina hosts one of the most important events in Latin America that focuses on independent filmmakers, writers, actors and fans of cinema.
