Astor Piazzolla (1921- 1992), the exceptional artist and composer, lived throughout the decades of the development of present- day Tango. This genius help create its present form never losing its originality.

Early the dance form was critized but later on admired by many. He introduced the Bandoneon as a concert instrument and transformed Tango into the sophisticated music. That's why the center is named after him.
