The Theater Nacional Cervantes of the city of Buenos Aires is located in the corner of the Cordova Avenue and the street Freedom. It is the only national theater in Buenos Aires.

It was inaugurated on 5th of September 1921. This grand theatre was established Ander the inspiration of the Spanish actress Maria Guerrero. In 1925, it happened to be the national State Treasury. It is a famous monument truly historical and artistic since October 1995.

Some of the city's best performances take place here in this production house originally built by a group of Spanish actors. The building is itself sumptuous, executed in an ornate Spanish Imperial style using materials brought from Spain.

The Theater National Cervantes has an intense activity. Various functions for schools, events, and courses are held here. For the bourgeois public of then, it was a real treat to see the reconstructed historical drama in its true atmosphere.
